The kingdom was setting up the ball room for the oncoming ball that night, the servants setting pretty flowers around the rather huge room. From giant vaulted ceilings hung beautiful, elegant chandeliers, with crystal tears hanging from it's tiered frame. The ball, which would start that day, would be a masquerade. The princesses were up stairs, putting their dresses on for the evening, fixing their hair, picking out a mask, or were elsewhere in the kingdom.
The grand ball room was decorated with shimmery gold tiled flooring, and white and gold walls. The flowers that were being set out were the colors of a spring day, with pinks, whites, reds, purples, oranges, and green leaves that acted as fillers in the arrangements. It was a nice day out, warm, but with a nice breeze that swept over the land. The king had sent out newsletters announcing the coming of the ball, that any and all humans of the kingdom were welcome, and if any other species entered the castle, they would be punished for it.
COME ONE, COME ALL, TO THE ROYAL MASQUERADE BALL!!!!!!!
((On another note, other species are welcome, but they must not release their identity, or what they are, unless they want to be punished. It is a masquerade ball, so masks are required! Thanks))

Aurora glared at her maid as she tightened her dress. "Must you make it so tight?!" She asked, annoyed. "Yes, your highness, I must. Don't worry, you will look thin and big-breasted. Just how a princess should look." Her maid replied. "Well I'd rather be able to breathe." Aurora muttered. Even though she could hardly breathe, she did love her dress. It was a pale blue with silver accents. Her favorite colors of course. She knew no one else would have a dress like it, considering everyone else knew light blue and silver were her colors, and silver fabric is quite hard to come by. Aurora's maid finished dressing her, then slipped on Aurora's silver shoes. "Thank you Abby. I appreciate it greatly. I wouldn't be able to put on my own dresses without you." She said, half sarcastic, half not. She put her mask on carefully, not wanting to knock any of the small diamonds off, or mess up her gorgeous black hair, which her maid had taken a full hour to make absolutely perfect, then nodded to Abby, dismissing her to get ready for the ball herself. As Abby left Aurora's room, Aurora reached back and loosened her dress just slightly before heading down the stairs to greet her guests. She was quite excited because she knew a lot of princes and suitors were going to be there,

(Ooh! Fun!) Gretchen sighed as she look at her reflection in the lake. Ah..she could use more jewelry. She then pulled out two pearl earrings, along with a sapphire necklace, connected with a silver chain. She then looked at her night blue dress, seeing some holes at the him of the dress. She sighed, knowing this was her only formal dress. Gretchen then adjusted her sleeves, and twirled around, nodding happily. "This will do," she said. Walking by the rock containing her clothes, she picked up her hand woven mask. It was a dark blue mask, with feathers from the birds, as well as cotton and other fabrics to support it's frame. The feather covered the outer layer, while the cotton was underneath, making it comfy and soft on her skin. She gently pulled it on, and may her way to the castle, remaining surprisingly clean through the journey.

Saisha looked into the mirror. She wore a lilac colored ball gown, which made her features pop. It was accented with silver beads and embroidered flowers in the same color. Her hair fell in little ringlets, just past her shoulders. The princess hardly ever wore her hair up or plaited, and this occasion would be no different. Her maid had helped her into her dress, tightened it, and walked out of her chambers, leaving two masks behind for Saisha to choose from. Her gown was rather tight, as it always was, but she had grown used to it, as her mother always nagged at her if she didn't look the part of a princess, with a well fitting gown. She thought for a moment, and then picked up the silver mask with black accents, that covered only the area around her eyes and nose, also covering part of her forehead. Saisha always tried to remain unrecognized, but that was almost impossible, as everyone knew the princesses, even by the way they walked and carried themselves. She slipped the mask over her eyes, gave a little sigh, and nodded. Beautiful. Now all she had to do was wait, welcome all the people to the ball, and dance. She loved dancing, but not with men that she didn't know at all, that were trying to win her over. She walked out of her room, and down, into the massive ball room, where all the events at the castle were held.

August Garath, Eldest Prince of Varfiend Prince August walked around the big castle, trying to get a better look on how it was run and where every room was. He was grateful for the hospitality, and glad everyone let him do his own thing. Many people he didn't know were starting to come in for the ball. He decided he may as well get up to his own room in the castle and get ready himself. He quickly wondered where his brother was, but his mind quickly blanked as the most beautiful girl he had ever seen passed him on the stairs. He knew she was one of the princesses of the castle, but he wasn't sure whether it was Aurora or Saisha. Her violet dress was completely marvelous. He thought briefly about going to talk to her, but he wasn't ready for the ball. He ran up the rest of the stairs and ran into his room. He dressed mostly by himself, with little help from his servants. He dashed out his room, sliding on his gold mask as he took to the stairs, looking for the princess that had caught his eye.

Saisha Reinhart, Eldest Princess
Saisha walked delicately toward the ball room. A happy, content smile graced her lips as she walked. She passed a rather handsome young man on her way down the stairs, and smiled kindly at him as she made her way down. The doors to the great, huge ball room were pulled open, revealing the elegant tapestries and gold flecked tiles that sparkled under the light of the ornate chandeliers. Saisha entered the room and found a spot near the steps that lead up to the two thrones, where her mother and father would be seated during the event. The princesses had their own thrones up there beside the larger ones, of course, but they were hardly ever found sitting in them. They were always told to go socialize with the people of their court. Funny how the king and queen of the kingdom didn't socialize very much, except with each other. The brunette young girl looked over the room. The servant had done a nice job with the decorations, as they always did. Saisha was very appreciative toward her maids and servants, as she wouldn't have a clue as to what needed to be done around the castle, or how to do any of it. She gave another light, quiet sigh, and waited for the guests to arrive.

Jasper Garath, Youngest Prince of Varfiend
Jasper roamed the cooridors, just exploring his current surrounding, getting the feel for this place. He had gotten himself lost, now. Not knowing where he was, he looked around the halls for his older brother. He jogged up the stairs, unbecoming of a prince, but he didn't really care. His shoulder brushed against the shoulder of another, and he turned his head to apologise, and was taken aback by the young girl's beauty that he beheld in front of him. He knew that this girl was one of the well known princesses, but he hadn't heard of any of them to even possibly put a name to her face. Her beauty and grace said it all. "I am terribly sorry." he said, a soft smile creeping upon his face. "I'm Jasper, Prince of Varfiend. And you must be a princess, though I can't seem to put a name to that lovely face, as it is covered by a mask." he continued.

Aurora Reinhart, Middle Princess of Albari Aurora looked up, shocked. She hadn't felt anyone bump her. She must be sidetracked, thinking about who her parents would set her up with tonight. "Your apology is accepted. I hadn't actually felt you bump into me." She was almost taken aback by how handsome he was. She quickly composed herself. "You know, you should be wearing a mask. It is a masquerade ball after all. And I'm not suppose to give away my identity, but since you already know I'm a princess, I may as well bend the rules. I am Princess Aurora of Albari. This is my kingdom. Well my parents, and then my sister's." She lifted up her mask, revealing her face. "You better get ready." She said softly. August Garath, Eldest Prince of Varfiend August quickly scanned the room, searching for the princess he needed to know. He ran down the stairs, not caring what anyone thought of him. He saw a girl with a violet dress, but when he reached her, he realized it was slightly a different color, and the mask was completely different. He continued looking and quickly spotted his brother on the stairs, talking to another princess. He quickly went on, continuing his search. He then spotted her. The unnamed beauty. He lost her in the sea of people as fast as he had spotted her. He got back on the stairs, going higher so he can see the whole room. He spotted her again and ran to her, not wanting to lose her. "Hello. I've been searching for you. I don't mean for that to sound weird, but it's true. I am August Garath, eldest prince of Varfiend. And you are?" He couldn't wait to know who she was.

Saisha Reinhart, Eldest Princess
Saisha smiled as the young man ran after. She turned to look at him, lifting her own mask as he introduced himself to her. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Prince August. I am Princess Saisha, eldest of the Albari princesses." she said in return. He was a very handsome man with his mask off. She smiled brightly. This must be one of the princes that father had arranged to come to the ball, to meet their heirs. "We really should not have taken our masks off, though." she said with a grin and a little giggle. She usually wasn't one to break the rules, but for a gentleman this good looking, she didn't care. Saisha brushed a loose curl from her face, tucking it away behind her ear, where, hopefully, it would stay, for now at least. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jasper Garath, Youngest Prince of Varfiend
Jasper chuckled. "It's an honor to meet you, Princess. " he said with a charming smile. "I know, but to be honest, I had gotten lost when I was exploring the castle. I was just trying to find my room to prepare myself." he admitted. "I can't seem to find my chambers. I think I can figure it out from here, though. It's just down the next cooridor, if I think correctly..." he said, trailing off toward the end. He turned back to her and smiled again. "Might I say, Princess, you are looking stunning this evening. Hopefully we can share a dance, yes?" he complimented, and asked with a grin. He was very much a flirt, but he couldn't really help it, the words just came out, it was just his personality. At least he liked flirting.

Aurora Reinhart, Middle Princess of Albari Aurora nodded, understanding. "Yes, even I get quite lost myself, and I've been raised here!" She replied. "Well maybe I can help you to your chambers if you'd like. Which roman numeral are you?" She asked. "Well you are quite handsome yourself. Of course we can dance. I couldn't think of dancing with anyone else." She flirted back. She decided she may as well loosen up for the night. Her parents would want her to be friendly to all of the guests, and that would definitely not be hard to act for someone as gorgeous as Jasper. She wouldn't even have to act. August Garath, Eldest Prince of Varfiend August chuckled. He looked to where the king and queen were seated, then slid his mask back on. "Alright, I wouldn't want to get in trouble this early in the evening. It's wonderful to meet you by the way. You really are the most beautiful girl in all the land." He told her as one of her curls came untucked. He brushed it back with his hand, then took her hand in his. "May I have this dance with you?" He asked her, grinning.

Saisha Reinhart, Eldest Princess
Saisha smiled as she slipped her own mask back over her face. "Why, thank you." she said in reply to his compliment. She had heard that many times, but coming from him, it made it even better. "You're quite a handsome one, as well. Surely you know that, though." she told him with a smile. She blushed softly as he brushed the curl back into place and took her hand in his. She nodded happily. "Of course!" she said with a giggle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jasper Garath, Youngest Prince of Varfiend
Jasper smiled, and gave a little nod. "I would be very grateful. It's XXI." he told her, looking down the hall at all of the rooms that lined it. He smirked at her reply. "Thank you. I could never compare to your good looks, though." he responded and flashed a bright smile her way. " (Meh, short...)

Aurora Reinhart, Middle Princess of Albari Aurora walked down the corridor of chambers. "Interesting. Mine is XXIII, right across from yours. I wonder if my parents had something to do with this..." She trailed off, wondering what else her parents had planned for her and her suitors. "But you are way more gorgeous than I. I swear it. You can ask anyone and they will tell you my sister, Saisha, is the pretty one." Aurora was known for being smart and being able to shoot and fight like a man, not traits men usually look for in their women. August Garath, Eldest Prince of Varfiend August swiftly took to the dance floor, moving quickly in time with the waltz the orchestra was playing. "Purple definitely looks amazing on you. It's quite your color." He told her. "Is that your sister my brother is talking to?" He asked her, motioning toward the stairs with his chin. He could tell she was a princess by her posture and fabric of her dress.

Ariana Reinhart, Youngest Princess of Albari
Ariana sat silently as her maid done up her long golden hair, she smiled sweetly at her as a thank you. Feeling that it was pretty hard to breathe from the dress being so tight she started to sneakily loosen it. Suddenly she was caught and the dress was tightened once again, "I can't breath normally with this so tight... can we please loosen it just a tad bit?" she asked the maid and watched as she shook her head and replied, "Absolutely not your highness, you need to look your best for the Ball." she sighed softly and nodded, "Yes ma'am." She said as she soon began to smile again minding the maid's words. Ariana was sure she was the last princess to get out on the dance floor which thrilled her because she wasn't that great with crowds, her shyness would get the better of her. "All done, you look splendid your highness." Her maid told her with a warm smile. Getting up Ariana walked to her mirror and admired the beautiful white and golden gown. The color of her dress made it look as if she was glowing in the light she smiled and then turned to her maid, "Thank you for doing my hair and helping me get dressed." She watched as the maid nodded and left the room. Walking to her bed side she picked up her mask that was sparkling white and gold to match her self. "Well time to go to the ball room...." She said softly and took a deep breath trying to calm her self down as she was already becoming nervous.

Saisha Reinhart, Eldest Princess
Saisha smiled as she danced. "Thank you." she replied softly. Purple was her favorite color. Fitting her was just a bonus. She looked toward the stairs, where he had motioned to. She gave a little nod. "It appears so. She better be careful not to let father see her not wearing a mask around the guests." she said with a little grin. "Your brother has a gift, it seems. He's brought Aurora out of her shell." she commented with a happy smile. Maybe her little sister's found someone who really suits her, or maybe she was just trying to have fun, and live a little. She watched as other people followed them in dancing, and smiled brightly at August. She loved seeing others dance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jasper Garath, Youngest Prince of Varfiend
Jasper smiled and nodded. "Seems we'll be seeing each other quite often, then." he said with a grin. He shook his head lightly. "Oh, you are absolutely as beautiful as your sister. I'm sure anyone would agree." he responded.

Ariana Reinhart, Youngest Princess of Albari
Taking one last deep breath before leaving her room, Ariana care fully put on her mask. Stopping as she opened the door she took one last look at her self in her mirror, admiring the gown she was wearing along with her mask that had white designs and behind them a gold background, on the right side of her mask hung a few strands of white and gold silk. Covering where the silk connected to the mask was a soft white feather and a white rose over it. Making sure everything was in place and looked perfect she walked out of her room and shut the door behind her, she then made her way to the ball room. She watched, from up top the stairs, her sisters talking to young handsome men whom she did not know all that well to put a name to them. After watching them for a few seconds she started making her her way down the stairs.

Aurora Reinhart, Middle Princess of Albari Aurora nodded to his door. "I guess we will be seeing each other a lot. And no, really. Ask anyone. They will all say Saisha is the most beautiful princess in all the land. I'm serious. But it's fine. I've gotten used to it over the past sixteen years of my life. Plus, to me, beauty isn't everything." She told him. "Well you better get ready. I'll save a dance for you, if not multiple. Come find me when you're done dressing." She replied, putting her mask back on, and turning toward the stairs. She slowly descended, making her grand entrance, although hardly anyone was paying attention. August Garath, Eldest Prince of Varfiend August looked up to his brother and the other girl, "What do you mean her shell? He does have the knack for that sort of thing. He's quite the charmer, but don't worry, he won't hurt your sister. He is still a gentleman after all." He told her reassuringly. He loved how her eyes shined brightly next to her mask that framed them.
