Jameson walked around the town, glad there was a lot of shade throughout the village. He didn't want to take any chances of getting burned. He was glad the kingdom built the houses and shops with overhangs. He slipped into the tailors shop, getting ready to design an outfit for the ball.

Lynnia entered the village, her blue eyes glowing. She walked among the many people on the dirt track, passing many old shacks and homes with convenient overhangs to protect certain species from the sun. Lynnia passed a large sign hung up on a post, then doubled back to read it. She had gasped thrice during her read and pressed her fingers to her lips in surprise, turning around and leaning her back against the pole. There was a... ball? In just a few days as well! In the castle! And... I could go. Lynnia looked around and cleared her throat, composing herself. If she was to go, she had to have something to wear. All she had at home was rags. How could she afford a suitable dress for a ball though? Lynnia's eyes widened and she raced home, clambering up the wooden stairs and into her room. Opening a small chest, a few gold coins glowed in front of her. She scooped them up and sped back outside, looking around for a tailor shop. When she spotted one, she entered slowly, as not to look like a crazy person, though her heart pounded painfully in her chest. Her two years of saved up allowance become sweaty in her hand as she spotted a man and the tailor. Adrian ate half of the loaf, then stuffed it in a cupboard above the sink. His eyes gleamed as he entered his room and began to lift weights, his muscles shining with sweat. He laughed proudly and kept going, even though his muscles burned. Adrian bit his lip and pushed himself harder. In order to do something drastic, he had to be ready. Being tough was important in his plan and he continued his workout without hesitation.

Jameson glanced at the door as a girl walked in. He smiled, then went back to getting measured. The tailor knew his sizes, but he wanted to be exact and precise. Everything counted considering the tailor was a perfectionist. The tailor went into the back room to grab a few fabrics Jameson could choose from. Jameson sat down to wait, "Hello, how are you?" He said to the girl, making small talk, but he actually did think she was quite pretty, especially with her blue eyes.

When Lynnia realized she would have to wait, as the tailor was busy with the only other guy in the store, she sighed and sat beside the waiting man. She wasn't the type of girl to make small talk, so she looked around the store curiously. She tucked the gold coins in a pocket in her ripped pants, then jumped a little when the guy beside her spoke. Lynnia blinked her light blue eyes and tucked her short blonde hair behind her ears out of habit. She stared at him, looking at his features. He had a handsome face. Lynnia nodded. "Um, good, I guess. You must be here to get an outfit for the ball. Are you excited?" She looked down at her hands, feeling a tiny smile pull at the corners of her lips.

Jameson nodded slightly. "Yes, I suppose. I love dancing. It's such a blast. Are you?" He asked. He took in her shy attitude, noticing how she pulled her hair back out of her face. He flashed his brightest smile at her, then turned to the tailor as he returned. He was carrying many types of fabric, but Jameson knew which one he wanted and picked out a couple. The tailor went into the back room again.

Lynnia beamed at him, nodding. "Of course I'm going to the ball!" She shifted a little closer. "I love to dance. It is great fun! My mother taught me many types of dances." Lynnia rose to her feet and faced him, keeping some distance so she had enough room to show off what she was doing. She twirled elegantly, spinning, her plain, light blue dress fanning around her slim but strong frame. She bounced from one foot to the other, each complicated step of the dance being pulled off correctly and beautifully. Lynnia's blue eyes were closed and the blonde hair tucked behind her ears came loose, spinning with her momentum. The dance was a cross between ballet and ballroom, a strange but well-matched pair. It was the most enjoyable for Lynnia, and she had practiced it many times. When she was finished, she smiled shyly at him and put her hands behind her back. The tailor had been watching, a look of surprise and admiration in his eyes, before going up to the man, then disappearing again. Lynnia fixed her gaze on the guy on the bench. She realized she was still standing in an elegant way, and she let herself slump a little, to stand normally. Her blue eyes glowed, her voice a whisper as she asked, "What is your name?"

Jameson smiled, watching her dance, glad she wasn't so shy as to feel sheepish. He liked that when she danced, she had confidence. "My name is Jameson Kiyoko. What is your name?" He stood up beside her and started to hum a tune. He took the girl in his arms, twirling her around and dancing to the melody. His humming got louder, and he began to sing, his brilliant and melodic voice controlling the rhythm to which they danced. Jameson then realized that he had started dancing with her without her permission. He hoped she didn't mind as they continued to dance.

Lynnia smiled, replaying the name in her head. She was about to reply, except she was swept into a dance with Jameson, his voice filling the air. Lynnia couldn't suppress a giggle and she moved with him, seeming to mold with Jameson as one dancing person. Every step was smooth and well-placed, no accidental foot on foot. She met his eyes, a smile on her face. He was a great dancer. Her blue eyes told him it was okay as they strode through the store. "My name is Lynnia," she whispered in his ear, her face resting against his chest.

Jameson chuckled as he finished his song. He was always outgoing and never afraid to show it. "Lynnia. That's a very pretty name." He said, brushing her hair out of her face. He wanted to sing and dance again, but the tailor seemed to be ready for Lynnia. "Well maybe we can continue this in a bit. The tailor seems to be waiting for you." He told her.

Heat crawled up Lynnia's face from Jameson's touch, her face turning scarlet. She couldn't find anything appropriate to say at the moment, and was a bit relieved when he broke away, though it left her with a hollow feeling inside. Lynnia turned to see the tailor standing there, a smile on his face. He winked at Lynnia and inclined his head for her to follow him to the other room. Lynnia started forward but looked back at Jameson. She smiled and gave a little wave before disappearing into the other room, her heart pounding in her chest. I wonder what he is... Is he just a regular human? I should have asked. Lynnia listened half-heartedly as the tailor pointed out different fabrics, explaining their positives and negatives. She looked around the room at the fabrics folded and hanging everywhere. A certain piece caught her attention though and she walked over to it, picking it up. The color was breathtaking. The bottom started a dark, midnight blue, then slowly lighted up to a sky blue as it reached the top. Lynnia held the fabric tightly in her hands and whirled on the tailor. "This one. I want this." The tailor slowly took the piece from her hands, nodding. "Beautiful, this is. Will go well with your eyes and hair, for sure. I'll make a dress with this fabric. Come back in tomorrow and it will be done, along with a matching mask." Lynnia's face and eyes glowed. She handed over all her money without any second thoughts.

Jameson waved as Lynnia went into the room. He wanted to wait for her, but he decided he had some more things to do. He hurriedly went shopping for some groceries. He grabbed bread, cheese, milk, and some cake, along with some other items he was running out of. He avoided the sun, glad there were a lot of areas covered in shade. Seems the kingdom was smart to build things with shade for the vampires. Then came back to see if Lynnia was finished. He sat on a bench outside of the tailor's to wait.

The tailor nodded and, keeping his eyes on the fabric, hustled off, Lynnia's money dangling in his pocket. Her face aglow, Lynnia left the fabric room to where Jameson was... supposed to be. The room was empty. Lynnia's face fell. He seemed like such a nice guy... Lynnia sighed and shrugged, walking from the shop and strutting away down the town street. She was so busy feeling happy about the dress, and disappointed about Jameson leaving her, she didn't realize she had just walked by Jameson and was strutting away from him, her blond hair shining in the sun.

Jameson watched as Lynnia walked past him. She looked lost in thought and he didn't want to disturb her, so he followed her quietly. She went into a fully lit spot and he had to stop, not wanting to burst into flames. He quickly thought of a route that would take him away from the sun, but he could still follow Lynnia. "Do you always think was such intensity?" He asked her finally.

Lynnia walked along the path, no certain destination in mind. She jumped at the sound of a familiar voice, a smile breaking across her face. "Actually, I do. In fact, I have no idea where I am right now." Lynnia looked around at the unfamiliar part of the town with a sigh. She walked over to the shadows where Jameson was. "I thought you left me." Her blue eyes glowed in the semi-dark. "Vampire."

Jameson shifted, somewhat uncomfortable. "I don't really know this part of town either." He was glad she knew. "Yeah, I'm a vampire. Is that going to be a problem? I won't drink your blood or anything though! I don't really like hurting people." It wasn't a big secret, there were quite a few vampires in this town.
