Blythe nodded in confirmation. "Yes, good sigh. Very good sigh." She leaned in closer, glad for the heat since dusk was falling. Because Redwood Forest is always autumn, it was getting chilly. She giggled again, giddy. "No I'm not. I only think I'm slightly pretty. Not gorgeous. You on the other hand are quite out of my league."

Jay chuckled. "Please, if anyone is out of anyone's league, you're out of mine. And you are quite gorgeous. Have you looked in a mirror lately?" he asked with a grin. "Are you cold at all? Want a blanket?" he asked her. "Wouldn't want m'lady of gorgeousness getting too cold." he said, reaching behind him to the little table behind the couch and grabbed a plush blanket from out of his pile. "Only the softest of blankets for you." he said and kissed her forehead, covering them both up with the blanket.

Blythe was about to say something else, but then she realized she hadn't looked in a mirror lately. "No I guess I haven't. I don't own one, and lately the only reflection I've seen of myself is as a wolf and that reflection was in water." Blythe was a little cold which was unusual. Being a werewolf usually meant your body heat would keep you warm always. It must be a quite cold night tonight. Blythe snuggled closer and kissed Jay again. "I think you're the most gorgeous guy I've ever met."

He kissed her back, and smiled. "Well, I thank you, but you must look in a mirror. I'll give you one of my grandmother's old mirrors, that way you can wake up everyday, and see the most beautiful girl staring back at you in it." he said.

Blythe smiled, "You don't have to do that. I'll just try to remember to look at my reflection in water more often. I wouldn't want you to have to give me anything. I wouldn't quite deserve it." Blythe was glad to have sat by Jay earlier. She was quite glad that her shoes had been killing her feet and had needed a rest.

He smiled and ran his fingers through her hair softly. "But I want to. You totally deserve it. No one else deserves it as much as you." he said. "Plus, it's not like I need it. I have four at least." he said with a smile and a little laugh. "My grandmother would want a girl like you to have it." he said with a soft smile.

Blythe shrugged against his body, burying her face against his chest. "Why would I deserve it more than anyone else? I can't be that special." She always complimented others, but she hated talking about herself. It was her parents' fault. They always tried to bring her down. "What was your grandmother like? Was she like a mother figure for you?" She asked.

"She was more of a mother figure than my mother was, even though I didn't really see her that often." he answered. "She was...kindhearted, and wasn't afraid to say what was on her mind." he said with a smile. "She could make anyone laugh, even the saddest of people, she could make them smile." he said. "You would have liked her." he told her. "Oh, and you're special to me." he said. He kissed the top of her head softly. "What's your family like?" he asked in return.

Blythe hugged him tighter, even though she couldn't get much closer. "You're special to me too. My family... Well this is gonna get really personal, huh?" She was stalling. She didn't really want to bring them up. Just thinking about them made her cry. "Well, when I was twelve, my father tore my seven-year-old brother to shreds our of rage. My mother never recovered and developed a psychotic disease where she would cut me as deep as she could whenever she felt like it. I try to hide the scars, but they don't show up much now. I went to live with my grandparents about a year later but they were worse. They beat me as much as they could. They were also werewolves, and they were much stronger than I was. A nice old lady heard my cries and came to stop them. She had her sons with her, and they killed my grandparents and saved me. I lived with her until I was seventeen, then I moved into my own small home." She was glad she had a happy ending. She would probably be dead without the woman. The memories of her past were overwhelming and Blythe had to stifle sobs.

Jay listened in awe. He'd thought he'd had a bad childhood, until he heard her story. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." he said, hugging her to him, his nose resting on the top of her head. He pulled her away a bit, and looked at her. "You know what makes everything better?" he asked, putting a smile on his face, hoping she wouldn't get to crying. He didn't think he'd be able to stand that, and cry himself. "Lemoncake!" he said. "I have some in the pantry. Would you like some?" he asked. "But, that would mean I'd have to get up, and I don't really want to ruin the moment..." he said and gave her another kiss.

Blythe wiped some tears, glancing at Jay's shirt where she left a couple of wet spots. "I'm sorry I got your shirt wet." She said, slightly shy. It wasn't that she was shy about crying in front of him. She was shy that she had told someone, who she had only met a couple hours ago, her story. She kissed him back passionately, soaking him in. "Lemon cake does sound good." She always had a sweet tooth. She didn't want the moment to end either though.

He gave her a soft smile, and wiped the remaining tears away from her eyes, and looked down at his shirt. "Just means I'll have a little bit of you with me when I wear this shirt." he told her with a smile. "You okay? Please don't cry, you'll make me cry." he said. "I'm here, how about we forget the past, and think about the present, the furture." he said, and hugged her tightly. "And I have an idea to get the lemoncake..." he said. He sat up, put an arm under her knees and the other under her back, and lifted her up off of the couch, the blanket still covering her up. "Now we don't have end the moment." he said with a grin.

Blythe giggled as he picked her up. "I like this idea. Definitely." She had never been carried this way, but it was nice. She wrapped her arms around Jay's neck and curled in closer with the blanket. The crying had made her a little tired, but she hoped the lemoncake would make her more awake. She didn't want to fall asleep. Jay always made her feel better.

Jay chuckled. He set her down on the table as he grabbed the lemon cake, put it on her stomach, and picked her up again. He carried her back to the couch, and sat down, laying back down and then laying her beside him again. He picked up the lemon cake, and gave her a piece, and handed it to her. "Here ya go." he said, kissing her cheek as he gave it to her. He grabbed a piece for himself, and then put the rest on the little table on the end of the couch. He smiled. "Lemoncake makes everything better." he said. "So do kisses. You can have a combo of both, at the same time." he said with a smile.

Blythe smiled, taking a bite. It was wonderful. Lemoncake had always been her favorite. The woman that had saved her always made it for her to cheer her up. "Well, that plan absolutely works for me." Blythe said, kissing Jay. "It seems you always have good ideas." She said before kissing him again.
