Blythe nodded softly, curling up in Jay's arms. "I really do love you." She said. Then she suddenly became embarrassed for crying in front of him. "I'm sorry I broke down like that. It just seems I've been going down memory lane all week, and it's a nightmare." She told him, wiping away the remaining tears that had fallen while she talked. She suddenly smelled the cake. "Oh!! The cake! I completely forgot!!"

Jay smiled at her. "I love you, too." he said and kissed her cheek gently. "Everyone cries sometimes. Even I do." he said, stroking her hair. He smelled it, too, and looked up, over the back of the couch, to see the cake almost overflowing out of it's pan. "Ah!" he said, scooting her over a bit and jumping up, racing over to the fire, completely forgetting oven mits, and picking the cake up. The heat soon got to him, and he hurriedly threw the pan onto the counter and walked to the sink, trying not to make a big deal out of it. His hands were burned, but he wouldn't show the pain. He flashed Blythe a smile and went to run his hands under cool water.

Blythe quickly ran over to him, jumping over the couch. "Oh my god! Are you okay! I know that hurt. You don't have to act brave for my sake. Do you have any ice?" She asked, but was already running to the ice chest, digging through it, then grabbing a chunk of ice, wrapping it up in a cloth, and ran back to Jay. "Here, keep this on your hands." She said before rushing off to his bathroom to look for some burn ointment. She couldn't find any, so she rushed off into the backyard and quickly grabbed the plants that would help the burns. Or the ones she could remember at least. She grabbed a small bowl and threw in all of the herbs, mashing them and adding some water. She looked at Jay again ad walked over to him. She took away the ice and put the ointment on his hands, rubbing it softly as to not hurt him. She hoped the cooling sensation would help. She then grabbed another cloth and slowly wrapped Jay's hands, then kissed them. "You know, the cake could have waited five more seconds for you to grab the mitts." She told him, grinning.

Jay did as he was told and held the ice on his burns until she came back with the herbs. He watched as she tended to his hands. After she had wrapped and kissed them, he smiled softly at her, the ointment's soothing feeling was already making them feel better. He smiled guiltily. "Yeah, I probably should have grabbed those..." he said. He had completely forgotten about those. He kissed her. "Thank you." he said, looking at his wrapped hands. He flashed a playful smile at her, and looked at the cake. "Well, we have cake now, anyway." he said with a short laugh. He grinned and wrapped his arms around her. "Guess what?" he asked her.

Blythe looked up into Jay's eyes and kissed him one more time, holding his hands softly in her's. "What?" She asked him, wondering what he would have to say after such an incident.

Jay grinned at her. "I love you." he said, strong arms surrounding her in a big bear hug as he kissed her again. He laughed playfully. "You'd make a wonderful mother." he told her, and she would. She made that poultice up in a matter of minutes to put of his hands, and she had known just what to do. "Where did you learn how to do that?" he asked, curiously.

Blythe giggled, and kissed him again. "I would?" She asked him. No one had ever told her that before. "Well long story short, the woman that adopted me, after my real mother ruined my life, was a healer. She worked as an apothecary and trained me to help her. She trained me to fight, hunt, heal. She pretty much taught me to say alive." She told him, resting her head against his chest.

Jay smiled and nodded. "Indeed you would, and excellent one, at that." he said. He nodded as she spoke. "Well, she taught you well." he said, stroking her hair as she leaned against his chest. He rested his head on top of her's and thought. "Do you like children?" he asked.

Blythe "Yeah, I guess she did." She sighed softly. "I suppose I like children. They're cute. I've never really thought about it, I guess. Do you?" She asked him, thinking about kids. If they had kids.

Jay nodded, agreeing. He thought for a second, and gave a little shug. "I think so. They're always so wonderfully happy when they're young, and have so much to learn. " he said with a smile. "I like that." he said with a nod. "If you had a child, would you like a boy or a girl?" he asked. He had always wanted a little girl, if he had a kid. But maybe not, maybe a boy would be better. He wasn't sure. He kissed the top of her head and smiled at her. "I love you."

Blythe shrugged. "I'm not sure. I think I would just leave it up to chance. I guess I've always wanted a little girl, but I think I'd like a boy to protect her too. I guess I've never given it much thought." She said softly. "I love you too." She said, kissing him.

Jay nodded and kissed her back. He smiled at her lovingly. He'd never really thought that much about it, either. He'd never even thought he'd find a girl that he loved this much, let alone get married. He twirled a strand of her hair in his fingers, and kissed her again. "I love you more." he said with a chuckle.

Jay smiled at her and shook his head. "We could do this all day." he said with a chuckle, "But I love you more." he grinned. "Well, I think the cake is probably cooled down by now..." he said. "Would you like some?" he asked, kissing her head and looking down at her lovingly.

Blythe kissed him again. "Of course I would love some! But I still love you more." She said as she skipped to the cake.
